Explore underground tunnel up to 400m long.
For 50 years, the island followed a policy of isolation and was inaccessible to tourists. Since World War II days, Vis was the headquarters for the largest civil, military and political authority within Yugoslavia. The Yugoslav army left the island in 1992, leaving behind a ghost town of former army barracks which serve as a haunting reminder in the minds of Vis residents who vividly recall the bygone era. A strategically planned network transformed the bowels of the island into an underground labyrinth. These secret underground tunnels have a combined length of 70 kilometers, constructed and linked at various defense points around the island.
