KOMIŽA
Komiza is the second largest place on the island of Vis with the population of about 1500 inhabitants. Until not long ago, the local people were primarily engaged in fishing and agriculture but nowadays people are more and more turning to tourism. Komiza has developed into an exclusive tourist destination attracting large number of tourists with its non touched environment and its rich gastronomy. Despite new trends of modern time, fishing tradition is still interwoven among the local population, so numerous fishing boats adorn its bay, and the Gajeta Falkuša still stands as a symbol of Croatian maritime heritage.
