Town of Vis

Meeting point is in our agency from which we will start our little journey. Through a pleasant walk you will learn a lot about this interesting island.
2

Fort George III.

First stop is Fort George, an English fortress from the 19th century. It is the largest fortress located at the western entrance to the port of Vis. We will walk around it and explain  why it was so important. You will also have amazing view on our neighbor island's as well as mainland. After a short brake we will continue to hike for the next 15 minutes to our next location which is fort Terjun.
3

Terjun (Bentinck)

On the hill between the port of Vis and the bay of Mala Svitnja, there are the remains of a ruined, round, two-story tower, which today is called Terjun, and at the time of its construction, the British called it Bentinck after Lord William Cavenidsh Bentinck - the then commander of the British army in Sicily. Terjun offers a great view of the port of Vis, the sea arround  and Forts Wellington and the Fort George . When we get to Terjun you will have some free time to walk around, take some pictures or to just relax a bit.
4

Samogor

From Terjun our walk continues trough macadam road which will take us to Samogor.  Along the hike to Samogor you will be surrounded by beautiful nature, and the view of the Bay will constantly amaze you.  Samogor was the largest barracks on the island in time of Jugoslavia, with approximately 1,000 soldiers. During the war years, it served as a refugee center for refugees and exiles from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. After Samogor, a walk to our agency awaits us where our trip ends.
