Departure from the Town of Vis

Our journey begins with a scenic drive to one of the island's most significant historical landmarks.
2

Fort George

Our first stop is Fort George, an impressive British fortress built in the early 19th century. Here you'll learn about its role in defending Vis Harbour and the island's strategic importance in controlling maritime routes across the Adriatic.
3

Nova Pošta Artillery Tunnel

We continue to the Nova Pošta Artillery Tunnel, one of the island's best-preserved military installations. You'll walk through its underground passages before emerging on the northern coast, where breathtaking views of the open Adriatic await. During the visit, your guide will explain the extensive military infrastructure of former Yugoslavia, the network of underground tunnels and shelters, and why Vis remained closed to foreign visitors for decades, earning the nickname "Tito's Island."
4

Križ – Allied Airfield Viewpoint

Our next stop is the Križ viewpoint, overlooking the site of the former Allied airfield from World War II. Here you'll learn about its strategic importance and the crucial role Vis played as an Allied base in the Adriatic during the war.
5

Hum – The Highest Peak on Vis Island

Our final destination is Hum (587 m), the highest point on the island. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over Komiža Bay, the surrounding islands, and the open Adriatic Sea. On exceptionally clear days, you may even spot the Italian coastline. After the tour, we return to the town of Vis.
